The Shield Of Faith

Series: Prepare For Battle!

Ephesians 6:10-17 NKJV

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ¹³ Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ¹⁶ above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

1) You are in a spiritual war

2) Know your enemy and know yourself

3) Jesus gave us power over the enemy

4) Sword of the Spirit – God’s Word

5) Be strong in the Lord

The Shield Of Faith

Don’t Go Into Battle Without The Shield!

Faith - assurance, being persuaded, convicted to the truth of anything, trust, believing in One who can be relied on

Without faith, it is impossible to please God

Walk by faith and not by sight

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God

By grace through faith

Fight the good fight of faith

Don’t go into battle without the Shield

1 John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Don’t Go Into Battle Without The Shield! 

Romans 4:19-20 says:  ¹⁹ And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: ²⁰ He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Don’t go into battle without the shield!
